Two decades in, still doing the work I love.
I've been a therapist for almost twenty years now, the last ten of those in private practice here in Newton, MA. I didn't set out to work mostly with women, but somewhere along the way, that's who kept showing up. Clients ranging from sixteen to seventy-eight, each one bringing a different chapter of life through the door.
I'm fifty-six myself, which puts me in a strange, useful middle ground — I've been through menopause, I'm raising a teenager, and I can still remember being twenty-something. That range shows up in how I work: I can sit with a client navigating first-time anxiety about exams as easily as I can with a woman untangling twenty years of a marriage that wasn't what it looked like from outside.
Wherever you’re at, I’d love to connect and explore whether we might be a good fit to work together.
My Story
[Milana — a few prompts to get you started. Write however feels natural; doesn't need to be polished.]
What drew you to becoming a therapist, and what's kept you doing this work for almost 20 years?
Is there something from your own life that shapes how you show up with clients now?
What's it actually like to sit across from you in a session?
What would you want someone nervous about starting therapy to know about you, before they reach out?
Direct
I'm not just going to sit back and nod. I'll tell you what I'm noticing, ask the question you're avoiding. That's where the real work starts.
Grounded
Twenty years of sitting with people through the hardest moments of their lives. I know where you've been, and I'm not rattled by any of it.
Real
I'll swear with you when you're angry and laugh with you at life’s absurdity. I'll be there for you in your toughest moments, and you’ll be able to feel that I really care.
How I work
Twenty years of sitting with people through their hardest and most absurd moments has taught me that healing doesn't look the same for any two people. I use a variety of different modalities in my work:
-
A move, a career change, a relationship that's ending or already over. Something big shifted, and you're looking to find your footing moving forward.
-
Grief can look a lot of ways: a death, an ending, a version of your life that will never come to be. Grief doesn't move in a straight line, and I can be with you as you navigate its twists and turns.
-
Anxiety can show up in sneaky ways: perfectionism, racing thoughts, exhaustion, even uncomfortable physical sensations. Together we'll figure out what's underneath it and work to heal it from within.
-
No matter how long ago it was, trauma and relationship wounds leave an imprint on how we show up in the present. Together, we’ll unravel it slowly, so you can live the life that reflects who you are today.
